How to Install WordPress in DirectAdmin

Now, as a next step, you want to live your website powered by WordPress. Let’s install WordPress on your DirectAdmin server with a single click.

WordPress is the most popular web publishing software and a highly flexible Content Management System (CMS). With WordPress, you can create your website or blog very quickly. It is open-source and free to host on your web server.

Installing WordPress is very easy with our one-click WordPress installer. And you don’t need to know web programming languages to play with WordPress in most cases.

Let Us Install WordPress in DirectAdmin Using Softaculous

We will be using Softaculous to install WordPress.

Softaculous is a great Auto Installer having 446 great scripts, 1115 PHP Classes, and more To access Softaculous, you have to log in to your DirectAdmin account.

Once you logged in to your DirectAdmin dashboard, search for WordPress under the Softaculous Apps Installer category.

Now click on the WordPress icon.

Choose Protocol: Always choose https or https://www.

In Directory: If you are going to install WordPress on your root domain, please leave this field blank.

If your home page uses another framework and needs WordPress only to use it for a specific purpose, then input your desired directory name here.

For example, you are installing WordPress for your blogging needs, then type blog in the text field. Your WordPress home page would be then

Site Name: Write your company name or brand name here.

Site Description: You can add a suitable description of your website here.

Enable Multisite (WPMU): If you need to use this website as a Multisite (WPMU), then tick that checkbox; else, leave it as empty. For a small blog, leave it unchecked.

Admin Username: It is a good practice to use a custom admin username for your WordPress. Default and commonly used admin usernames like admin can easily guess by someone. And that will make a threat to your website.

Admin Password: Always use strong passwords or passphrases for all your online accounts.

Admin Email: An admin email address is critical to managing your WordPress website. Please do not use your admin email address for your regular email communication.

You can ignore the rest of the settings or modify them as per your requirements.

Finally, click on the Install button. It won’t take more than a few seconds. As soon as the WordPress installation is completed, you will see a confirmation message.

This message will have all your necessary information to enter your newly installed WordPress website.

As I said, the WordPress platform is highly customizable. Once you finished your WordPress installation, visit your WordPress admin dashboard. You can start customizing your website as per your preferences here.
